The spy show that was about so much more. It’s season 2 and 4 cliffhangers are still the benchmark by which all other cliffhangers are measured.
Fringe
Olivia / Walter / Peter / Astrid / Broyles… Even the wee cow, are some of the most well rounded characters ever written. A show that sucked you into its spiralling maze of mythology and kept you there. Wonderful show.
Regarding Henry
One of the loveliest films I’ve ever seen. Ford and Bening both smashed it.
Star Trek
Rebooted with aplomb this was probably the best Star Trek film since the voyage home.
Star Trek into Darkness
Fantastic sequel. The opening 10 minutes are cinema at its peak.
Cloverfield
One of the few “found footage” films I can tolerate. The reason? It’s inventive, tense and had a cracking ending.
Lost (excluding the final episode)
Inspired theories, thesis and discussion for the duration of its run. What was the island really? Despite not tying everything in the neat bow the world wanted, this was genuinely excellent.
Forever Young
It’s really sweet… I like it, ok!
Mission impossible Rogue Nation
Got the MI series back on track nicely. Great action film with lots of fun twists.
Bottom line, Abrams is on fire just now, looking forward to seeing Cloverfield “Sequel” too.
